Presidential Disaster Declaration – Financial Assistance
If you own a business or farm in a county or reservation that has a Presidential Disaster Declaration, you may be eligible for additional programs and services.

There are currently three (3) levels of Presidential Disaster Declarations in place in North Dakota. Each level has different assistance available (check the link above to determine your areas declaration level).

  1. Individual Assistance & Public Assistance (orange counties on map)
    If you have a designation that includes Individual Assistance you may be eligible for the greatest number of programs.

  2. Public Assistance (cream counties on map)
    If you have a Public Assistance designation, you may be eligible for the below loans through the Bank of North Dakota.

  3. No Designation – Adjacent Counties to Presidential-Disaster Area
    If you operate a business in a county adjacent to a Presidential-declared disaster area, you may be eligible for a U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Injury loan.

    Counties that currently qualify at this level are: Bottineau, Burke, Emmons, Grant, Kidder, McHenry, McLean, Mercer, Mountrail, Oliver, Pierce, Sheridan, Sioux, Stark

Loan Assistance
Businesses and farms in disaster areas that do not have a Presidential Disaster Declaration may be eligible for low interest loans through their local lender or other programs.

Insurance Support
If you have coverage from the National Flood Insurance Program, some portions of your business or farm may be covered.

Utility Rebates
Utility rebates are available to business customers for replacement of furnaces, hot water heaters, air conditioners, heat pumps and other heating and cooling products.
